Post Office robbery in Stroud

Police investigating a robbery at a post office in Stroud have arrested a man.

The robbery happened at approximately 9.55am on Monday September 17, at the post office on Stratford Road. 

A man went to the counter and demanded that staff hand over some money. The offender was holding what is believed to be a knife. The staff handed over some cash and the man left the premises on foot. As part of their investigation officers have arrested a 24-year-old local man on suspicion of robbery. He has been bailed to return to the police station on October 18, pending further inquiries.
